Architectural glass feature walls offer a new design dimension

  • 31 Jul 2015

When working on contemporary developments, architects and designers tend to consider colour, texture and light as mediums of expression.

To allow for the combination these design factors, D R Services has developed its glass feature walls, which can be enhanced by LED lighting and different materials.

Contemporary aesthetic

D R Services’ glass feature walls are suitable for installation in contemporary offices, hotels and residential properties

As renowned suppliers of architectural glass, the company is able to incorporate any material – including fabrics, metal and wood veneer – into laminated glass.

LED lighting can also be added to illuminate the interlayer, which reflects off the glass internally.

The result is a striking visual, suitable for contemporary projects.

SGP interlayer

D R Services has developed the SGP interlayer to allow for the incorporation of any material.

Recent examples include a copper mesh, which has been included in a glass wall for a large private house, and a cherry wood veneer for a restaurant in London.

The interlayer is waterproof, meaning that the walls can be used in steam rooms or alongside swimming pools.

It is also possible to use an electrical glass product to further enhance the look of the walls.

D R Services also offers a bespoke design service; company logos and illustrations can be drawn on CAD and engraved into the glass before it is laminated for an individual touch.

In the future, D R Services could offer laminate feature walls to resist fire or sustain barrier loads by utilising its supply chain and expertise in customisation.
