Beginning at 11am at the company’s High Wycombe headquarters, the test will show two identical doors being subjected to a prolonged period of fire, with one of the doors having been correctly specified and fitted, while the other will demonstrate the common mistakes made by installers.
Organised as part of Fire Door Safety Week by the British Woodworking Federation, which takes place between 15th – 21st September, the initiative aims to highlight the devastation caused when doors are not specified, fitted and maintained precisely.
The fire door test is an addition to BM TRADA’s Fire Doors Explained’ CPD seminar, which provides an insight into fire door regulations, construction, testing, installation and maintenance.
