Introduced following demand for a quality mark for furniture tested to industry standards, most major kitchen retailers and manufacturers today now hold FIRA Gold, with Broadstock most recently achieving Installation Certification for workplace, educational and catering furniture.
FIRA Gold Certification is a quality mark awarded to manufacturers by FIRA Internationals and supported by the Furniture Industry Research Association, who has been working in the industry for 65 years.
Bushboard and Paula Rosa gained FIRA Gold for their kitchen ranges in 1989, whilst Manhattan achieved accreditation for kitchen and bathroom installation in 1990 and B&Q achieved certification in 1997 for fitting kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms.
Businesses are able to provide independent evidence that their products and installation services meet the highest industry standards through gaining FIRA Gold accreditation.
To attain FIRA Gold, a product or service must undergo thorough testing or auditing to ensure that excellence is maintained and that staff follow the agreed industry practices.
Upon successful completion, certification is awarded meaning that the production process has passed a series of tests and products are of the highest standard for consumers.
FIRA Gold is the only accreditation scheme to be recognised by the furniture industry and audited by an independent third party.
