Fire Doors Explained in seminar from BM TRADA

At the CPD seminars, live fire demonstrations and film footage will be used to give delegates an overview of fire door design and manufacture. The testing, installation and certification of fire doors will also be covered.

Traditional seminar sessions are also held at the events. These have been designed to provide attendees with an understanding of a fire-resisting doorset’s components.

The sessions will see experts from BM TRADA teach delegates about fire test requirements and the role of third party certification.

Attendees will also learn how to determine whether a fire door will perform correctly after installation.

Live fire door test

A live fire door test has been included in the seminar. The hour-long test shows two identical doors exposed to fire.

One of the doors will be incorrectly fitted to demonstrate the difference in fire resistance between the two doors. The test has been included to stress how important it is to specify and install fire doors appropriately.

BM TRADA’s remaining Fire Doors Explained seminars are scheduled to take place on 28th April, 30th June, 15th September and 24th November this year.

They will be hosted at BM TRADA’s testing laboratories which are located in High Wycombe.
