Low energy locking solutions to be showcased at IFSEC

  • 5 May 2015

Following the launch of the government’s Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), Abloy is keen to highlight the energy saving benefits of its low energy electric locking solutions.

ESOS is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for UK businesses, which requires them to carry out audits of the energy used by their buildings, industrial processes and transport in order to identify cost-effective energy saving measures.

Abloy is keen to highlight its energy-saving locks following the launch of ESOS

Electric Locks

Electric locks can provide an ideal solution in instances where the energy consumption of a building needs to be reduced.

Door magnets require an electric current to lock the door, whereas motorised or solenoid electric locks only use power to open the door, using significantly less energy.

Abloy has applied this to its handle controlled locks, which are now available with new low energy technology.

Web-based security management

Abloy will also be promoting PROTEC2 – its web-based security management solution which allows for the management of disparate or large electronic master-keyed sites remotely at any time or place.

The system will provide comprehensive audit trails on cylinders and padlocks in addition to the ability to remove lost or stolen keys from the system.

Representatives will be available to answer any questions for visitors to IFSEX 2015. An interactive demonstration of how the PROTEC2 CLIQ and electric locking systems work on stand D1700

Jon Burke, Marketing Manager for Abloy UK, said: “IFSEC is the world’s leading annual security event, making it the ideal location to discuss compliance, key control and energy efficiency.

“We want to help visitors understand how they are able to achieve all three of these factors in a variety of applications.”
