BBA Approved Ronafix Mix E provides high strength waterproof render

Work was undertaken to convert the building into a branch of the coffee house chain Caffe Nero, with Ronacrete’s technical team recommending Ronafix Mix E in order to provide a BBA Approved, durable high strength waterproof render to the basement walls.

The surface was prepared by scabbling with a bush hammer to provide a mechanical key for effective bonding of the render, whilst glass fibre mesh was used on brickwork.

Ronafix admixture and Portland cement were mixed together in order to prime the brickwork and the first layer of render, which was trowel applied in two layers.

Mix Design E blends Portland cement with sand and admixture

Ronafix was used as the gauging liquid to create Mix Design E, a blend of Portland cement, sand and Ronafix admixture.

Day joints in the render were positioned so that the joints in the second layer did not coincide with the ones in the first layer, ensuring there was no direct path for water ingress through joints.

Ronacrete Ronafix Mix E polymer modified render was used to provide a securely bonded durable waterproof render for the basement to prepare it for interior decoration.

The company’s site batched polymer modified renders are covered by BBA Certificate No. 85/1651.
