UK energy solution, building site noise dangers andamp; fighting false alarms

Offshore Wind Works poster campaign starts in UK

Travelling on the London Underground regularly and couldn’t help noticing a massive poster campaign telling us that ‘Offshore Wind Works’ and is the key to self-sustaining energy in the UK. We are already the world leader in offshore wind, with more capacity in operation than the rest of the world combined.

However, wind power is still controversial and some say it is a gigantic costly folly. I have included a great ‘myth-busting’ video on the subject. Take a look and join in the debate. I will include your comments alongside the video.

I have tinnitus so a new infographic on deafness and tinnitus caused by excessive noise on building sites caught my eye. Litigation on this is becoming more common too _ so do take a look.

Talking of noise, one of my pet hates is false alarms from cars and buildings. So I welcome AlarmCalm from Advanced which offers a solution.

Buildingtalk announces its support for Bounce Back, a great charity that helps ex-offenders gain painting and decorating skills and jobs. They have dramatically reduced the re-offending rate _ which is good news them and for the community.

And a final reminder to register for Timber Expo at the NEC next week, especially the highly successful Buyers andamp; Specifiers Forum.
