These 3 national companies worked together to give a temporary housing service in Bristol a new lease of life.

In just five days, more than 40 skilled tradespeople set about providing the facility with a fresh, new look including:

  • installing brand new kitchens for staff and residents
  • turning the common room into a caf_ with a new floor, tables and chairs
  • redecorating large areas of the building
  • installing new decking and a gazebo outside

Suppliers such as Dulux Trade, Moores Furniture Group, Falcon Contract Flooring and Travis Perkins also played an important role by donating materials.

Jamie Dickinson, head of social value at Places for People: ñWe work closely with our contractors to provide the best possible homes and improve everyday life for our customers. Getting our Major Works contractors to work together on projects like this, even though they are competitors, is a great achievement and demonstrates everyone’s commitment to supporting our local communities. The project has made a real difference and will really help our customers to get their lives back on track.î

Neil Hand, Novus’ managing director: ñWe are extremely proud of our Changing Lives programme and had no hesitation in getting involved with this fantastic project. It was a challenge to undertake the work in just a week, but we’re confident that the residents now have an inspiring space in which to continue their journey to independence.î

Mark Kearney, business improvement director at Keepmoat: ñThis project is a prime example of how different partners can come together in order to leave a long_term positive impact in the community. We were more than happy to donate our time to this very worthwhile project.î

Novus Property Solutions has set itself the target of changing 10,000 lives as part of its Changing Lives campaign.
