TraffiGlove has been contracted to supply its TG310 Achieve and TG562 Dynamic safety gloves to Mace’s aviation team, following a triumphant two-month trial.
Mace holds a maintenance contract with Heathrow Airport, which requires its direct and subcontracted workers to wear gloves on site.
For 2016, the company aims to reduce its amount of hand injuries to zero. To achieve this, its protective equipment provider, Enfield Safety, is working with TraffiGlove to equip Mace’s aviation team with colour coded safety gloves.
Earlier this year, 23 Mace aviation operatives took part in a three month trial, which allowed them to make use of TraffiGlove’s TG310 Achieve and TG562 Dynamic safety gloves.
Offering high abrasion and tear resistance, TG310 Achieve has been designed as a dextrous glove for use in dry conditions. It is a cut level three product, featuring a breathable Polyurethane coating. Its cuff length offers additional user support and comfort.
Meanwhile, at cut level five, TG562 Dynamic offers the highest abrasion and cut protection for precision work in dry conditions.
96% of operatives taking part rated the gloves as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’ when asked to assess their overall performance, fit and comfort. The dexterity and grip quality of the gloves were rated as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’ by 91% of operatives.
TraffiGlove intends to work closely with Mace’s aviation team, offering support in the form of educational on site posters and ‘toolbox talks’. It will also consult with the health and safety teams regularly, establishing injury reduction goals to ensure that staff are kept safe at all times.
