Mitsubishi Electric’s approach to product innovation has been recognised with two prizes at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards 2015 for the air conditioning and heat pump industry.
Mitsubishi Electric’s City Multi YLM air conditioning system comprises an aluminium heat exchanger, which allows for overall improvements in system efficiency.
It was acknowledged by the RAC Cooling Industry Awards’ judges, who recognised the product as ‘evolutionary’ rather than ‘revolutionary’; it demonstrates a significant advancement in the field of maintenance and usability for both installers and owners.
For this reason, it secured the Air Conditioning or Heat Pump Innovation of the Year category.
Enabling 26% more refrigerant contact than its predecessors, the City Multi YLM air conditioning system prioritises seasonal efficiency. Its motoring and metering features allows customers to view energy consumption in the terms of costs.
It also enables installers to interrogate remotely, reducing the number of unnecessary call outs.
Mitsubishi Electric also picked up the Award for the Heat Pump Product of the Year for its range of Ecodan FTC5 air source heat pumps. This new category was established to recognise and award the growth in heat pump technology beyond the air conditioning industry.
