Industry news last week included a report from BarbourABI that construction activity grew by 50% in October compared to the same month last year; the UK Green Building Council warn of job losses by Christmas if government rolls back green levies; the Labour Party pledges to build 200k new homes if elected; and big opportunities for UK construction in Qatar with a $160 billion spend on new projects in the next 10 years.
It’s the Awards season so congratulations to Aspire Housing for winning the top NHIC Award; Alumasc Facades for winning 4 INCA Awards, including Project of Year; and to Recofloor for winning the Green Apple Gold Award for recycling.
As well as the latest new product and projects featured below, we also have some great feature stories from the ABC&D magazine ; plus Knauf Insulation on the impact of the latest Part L Regulations on achieving zero carbon homes.
And finally, we report on a call for mandatory fitting of CCTV in all new domestic and commercial premises to reduce crime.
