Pilkington float glass line in the UK

The operation in St Helens, UK produces more than 550 tonnes of glass every day and runs 24-hours-a-day, 7 days a week.

In the videos, four engineers walk you through the whole process, from raw materials arriving at the site and being melted in the furnace, the float bath of molten tin and the critical cooling process, to the plate-cutting and quality-control processes and the distribution and warehousing of the final product.

The first video will be available soon, so watch this space!
