Schueco’s new FWS 60 CV concealed vent façade has been developed for new builds and existing commercial properties where thermal performance and visual appearance must be considered.
Schueco’s FWS 60 CV concealed vent façade has been designed for floor-to-ceiling ribbon windows.
As its name suggests, the aluminium system’s vents are completely concealed, making it almost impossible to identify which are fixed and which are open from the outside. From the inside, the only indications of an opening unit are the presence of a window handle and a discreet shadow gap.
Schueco has achieved this by merging the vent with the load-bearing structure.
A safe and thermally efficient façade
The system has been developed with face-widths, which can deliver U-values as low as 0.85 W/m2K, and a glazing U-value of 0.7 W/m2K. In addition to this, it possesses the ability to maximise light transmission into a building.
An all-glass Juliet balcony can be integrated into the areas which have opening vents, to ensure safety in use.
The Schueco FWS 60 CV meets current wind-loads and weather-tightness requirements, thanks to an external centre and internal gasket system. It also provides burglar resistance up to RC 2.
Moreover, it offers design flexibility; with a choice between two depths and a side-hung or turn-tilt opening vent option, specification can be tailored to meet individual project requirements.
