Pilkington launch two new additions to Pyroclear range

  • 28 Oct 2015

Pilkington has launched two new butt-jointed glazing systems as part of its Pilkington Pyroclear range.

Produced using Pilkington’s Pyroclear advanced toughened glass, the new 30-minute and 60-minute integrity only systems have been developed to offer floor-to-ceiling fire resistance.

The systems use monolithic panes of standard soda-lime-silica glass, making them the first of their kind to be used without the need for vertical framing.Screen Shot 2015-10-28 at 4.51.32 pm

Developed to meet integrity requirements (BS EN 13501-2), the 30-minute system (BS EN 1364) has been tested to demonstrate that it can provide a fully unobstructed view, without the use of any button fixings between panes.

The 60-minute integrity system with button-fixings (BS 476) offers an increased period of reliable basic fire protection.

The Pilkington Pyroclear Line is used extensively by fabricators working in commercial office space, where fire-resistant frameless glass partitioning is becoming increasingly popular as a design feature.

Offering end-users advanced levels of fire safety, Pilkington Pyroclear Line 30-603 and Pyroclear 60-603 can be used in full height screen applications at a current maximum individual pane width of 1.4m.

The products are supplied with all associated materials including sealant, glazing tape and fixings.
