ASSA ABLOY Security Doors has worked with Enbloc to supply over 50 steel cleanroom doorsets to Sovrin Plastics’ new manufacturing facility, with the aim of reducing the amount of surface bacteria and improving hygiene.
Sovrin Plastics services the medical, engineering and electronics industries by supplying precision plastic components and assemblies.
Based in Slough, the company’s new manufacturing facility has been purpose built for injection moulding. It accommodates a white assembly area, a class ‘D’ cleanroom, storage areas and a number of offices.
Enbloc contracted ASSA ABLOY Security Doors to supply the facility with internal steel doors.
The company specified its Powershield cleanroom steel doorsets to reduce the amount of surface bacteria in the factory.
Different models were supplied to suit the different environments within the factory; a 3m x 3m double door was specifically made for machine access.
With adjustable ‘wrap around frames’ and sealing openings to prevent the collection of dirt, the doorsets have been designed to contribute towards hygiene, whilst offering security and access features.
Fire certified for up to an hour, the cleanroom doors have been designed to meet the requirements of cleanrooms in accordance with ISO14644 cGMP.
To create a seamless finish, the doors were varnished with a PPC finish, which was applied by ASSA ABLOY Security Doors in-factory. This allows for easy cleaning and maintenance.
ASSA ABLOY group’s hardware was also used on each doorset.
