The University of Chichester is using Tinytag temperature and energy data loggers to monitor energy efficiency and electrical consumption, before and after the introduction of energy saving measures.
Designed to confirm temperatures within accommodation and academic areas, Tinytag Transit 2 data loggers can be used to measure a wide range of temperatures over a significant amount of time.
The University of Chichester’s Energy Officer, Peter Bassett, uses 6 or 7 of the devices to oversee buildings across the university’s campuses.
For Peter, who works to reduce carbon emissions by implementing energy saving measures, monitoring is essential to ensure that heat comfort levels are maintained.
Monitoring also helps to verify the operation of boiler plant and controls, whilst providing evidence to support future projects and post-project verification.
Peter also uses Tinytag Energy Loggers to monitor electrical consumption before and after energy saving measures are introduced at the university.
Gemini’s Energy Logger has been designed to verify electrical consumption pre and post energy saving measures and projects. This data can be used to calculate actual carbon and financial savings.
The loggers are accompanied by software which has been developed to produce comprehensive graphs. These can be exported into third party software for further analysis.
By analysing the data, the university can confirm that it is in control of its energy usage, or highlight areas for potential improvement.
