Tackling damp and moss with Safeguard's biocidal solution

Biocidal solution designed to tackle biological growth

  • 2 Dec 2015

When combined with Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream, Safeguard’s biocidal solution can protect walls from both damp and biological growth.

As moss and algae breed in moist areas, damp walls are often susceptible to growth. These plants can cause blistering and pitting on stone or brickwork, which can subsequently cause damage to buildings.

Safeguard’s SoluGuard Multi-Surface Biocide is a biocidal solution, which has been designed to remove biological growth and tackle moss and algae.

The substance can be applied with a brush, roller or a coarse spray to stone, driveways, render, concrete, patios and roof tiles. One litre can cover between 2 and 20 square metres of surface; coverage is dependent on the permeability of the substrate.

SoluGuard Multi-Surface Biocide can be used on its own, or in conjunction with Stromdry Masonry Cream; this combined system can be used to protect walls from rain penetration, as well as to eliminate moss and algae.

In addition to this, a research study has revealed that treating a damp wall with Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream can offer an energy bills saving of up to 29%.

Once the combined system has been applied, the wall will be protected from both damp and biological growth.
