An American-style self-build property has made use of Andersen windows and a bespoke front door, which were supplied by Black Millwork to offer energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

Located in the centre of Surrey’s greenbelt, the four bedroom, three bathroom family home sits in a two acre plot, which comprises a detached garage and a separate tennis court.

The property has built on the site on a 19th century cottage, which was beyond repair and demolished to free the land for a new development in 2012.

Inspired by the New England style, the multi-million pound property incorporates a number of feature windows with quarter and half circle finishes from Black Millwork; the company also supplied a bespoke front door to match.

Just fewer than 50 Anderson casement windows were installed at the property. Finished in white Perma-Shield on the exterior, the windows benefited from an interior coating of white electrostatically applied paint.

To match the feature windows, a tailor-made entrance door with half and quarter glazing was fitted. Both the windows and doors are energy efficient products, with the ability to achieve U-values of 1.4 W/m2K.

Black Millwork’s products fitted the brief, allowing maximum amounts of natural light to enter the property, whilst ensuring its thermal efficiency.
