Gilberts of Blackpool has introduced a high capacity version of its energy efficient Mistrale Fusion Series (MFS) ventilation system to complement its existing core MFS128 unit.
Designed to deliver twice the airflow capacity in one unit, the new MFS256 ventilation system makes use of occasional eco fan assistance to maintain comfort conditions within a building.
The unit can be fitted in a window or wall; it uses natural air movement principles to draw fresh air through a louvre into the core unit.
A mixing damper within works to modulate the airflow; this allows fresh air to mix with the warm exhaust air, encouraging the extraction of heat without an exchanger and the risk of cross-contamination.
An integrated low energy fan works to blend the internal air during poor air movement conditions, ensuring an even distribution of airflow and offering control over temperature and CO2 levels.
The ventilation system’s regular flowrate ensures compliance with Department for Education guidelines; the high capacity system still sits comfortably within acoustic limitations to maintain adequate ventilation in hotter environments, such as computer suites.
The MFS range achieves an air leakage of 5m3/HR/m2 and a U value of 1W/m2/°C. Gilberts’ testing predicts operating costs of less than £5/classroom/annum.
