Cemsix corrugated sheets achieving BBA certification

Cemsix fully compressed corrugated sheets achieve BBA certification

  • 8 Dec 2015

Cembrit’s Cemsix range of corrugated sheets has been fully accredited by the British Board of Agrément (BBA).

The waterproof building material passed a series of rigorous tests which judged the products strength, properties in relation to fire, weather resistance and durability.

Cembrit’s Marketing Manager, Ged Ferris, commented: “We believe that it is important to put our products through the rigorous BBA process, as the independent certification provides specifiers with a great deal of confidence in our products”

Cemsix is a slightly porous material, meaning that high levels of water vapour and humidity within agricultural buildings can be absorbed by the sheets before being gradually released into the atmosphere.

Available in natural grey, matt black and seven other coated colour options, Cemsix is resistant to rust, destructive fungi, vermin and insects, so will not rot or decay.

The product allows designers to clad agricultural or industrial buildings in a Class 0 fire rated material, which incorporates the latest technological advances to last for decades.

It is manufactured by combining Portland cement with a formulation of superior blended synthetic and cellulose fibres as part of Cembrit’s 3-part colouration process.

Produced to the highest European standard, Cemsix is offered in a standard imperial 6 inch profile strengthened with strategically placed polypropylene reinforcement strips. These are incorporated within the fibre-cement sheet to comply with BS and H&S  requirements for site safety and fragility.
