A Blackpool-based JD Wetherspoon’s pub has been awarded the title of ‘Loo of the Year’, after becoming the first public house to fit a Changing Places assisted accessible toilet.
Sponsored by Changing Places’ British provider, Clos-o-Mat, the Trophy is the most prestigious award available for public assisted accessible facilities.
Blackpool’s Velvet Coaster, which has also been named the UK’s largest public house, was awarded the Trophy for 2015, along with the best pub & bar toilet award in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Over 92% of Wetherspoon’s pubs achieved a platinum rating upon entering the Awards, reflecting its commitment to providing quality toilets and washrooms.
The equipment for its acclaimed Changing Places toilet was supplied and installed by Clos-o-Mat; the company has sponsored the ‘Loo of the Year Awards’ for the past 5 years of its 30 year run.
