Six of the eight Energy Loggers left in place to monitor power consumption

Tinytag Energy Loggers used to monitor hospital’s electrical consumption

  • 7 Jan 2016

Gemini’s Tinytag Energy Loggers have been used to monitor the electrical consumption of a hospital in Stockholm to provide an accurate usage data for planning future energy needs.

As the hospital was undertaking an expansion programme, it was important for them to understand their current total power consumption to assess whether their transformers would be suitable to handle the intended development.

After consultants Bihal AB were commissioned to investigate, Gemini’s Swedish distributor Intab supplied it with eight Energy Loggers to take the measurements over a period of two weeks.

Bihal CEO Hans Larsén first began working with Intab in the 1980s, prior to the creation of Tinytag loggers. Hans worked as an electrical manager for Posten & PG, where Intab conducted a monitoring analysis of all the cells in the battery banks at UPS facilities.

Larsén commented: ”I still use Tinytags today, and realised that the Energy Logger would be useful in acquiring the necessary power usage data at the hospital. It proved effective and easy to use for this purpose.”
