Prater to deliver external envelope for Bracknell renovation

  • 18 Jan 2016

Prater has been contracted to deliver an external envelope package across eight retail buildings in Bracknell, as part of the town’s multi-million pound redevelopment.

Bracknell’s town centre is set to benefit from a £200 million regeneration: the whole redevelopment programme will oversee the construction of a new retail and leisure site, a 1,300-space multi-storey car park and several landscaped public areas.

External envelope solution

The project’s lead contractor, Mace, enlisted Prater to design and install the external envelope for each of the new buildings, in a £13 million project.

The company will be responsible for the complete external envelope, including roofing, glazing and rainscreen cladding.

With the design phase currently in progress, Prater’s project team is due to start work on site early this year. The construction work is scheduled for completion in summer 2016, which will allow the retailers to fit the development out in time for its 2017 unveiling.
