Schools, leisure centres and other public establishments are often subject to intolerable noise and echoes. Troldtekt’s acoustic panels have been designed to reduce reverberation in such venues.
The company’s acoustic solution has been specified for installation in Denmark’s Social and Healthcare College, which has been relocated to the Aarhus suburb of Skejby.
Designed by Cubo architects, the building stands at 13,000 square metres. It has been arranged around a central hub, giving its students a natural place to gather and socialise.
A number of Danish manufactured natural wood Troldtekt panels have been fitted throughout the College. Designed to ensure effective acoustics in open and high-ceilinged rooms, the panels were particularly suitable for the project.
Troldtekt’s acoustic tiles can be supplied as FSC or PEFC certified panels throughout Britain and Europe. Manufactured using natural wood fibres, they offer breathability, durability and sustainability, as well as sound absorption.
The tiles are available in three grades – from ultrafine to coarse – and a variety of RAL colours. They can be specified in a number of sizes.
As its panels do not contain dangerous substances, Troldtekt offers Silver level sustainability within the Cradle to Cradle concept; it has also earned gold on 4 out of 5 criteria in the Cradle to Cradle certification, version 3.1. Its panels are completely recyclable.
