Carlisle Lake District Airport is being developed for commercial flights to Cumbria to open up tourist opportunities for the Lake District.

Four kilometres of Filcoten grated channel drain has been supplied by Penrith Building Supplies for the project.

Filcoten is the world’s first lightweight concrete channel drain. Its robust material reduces the risk of breakages, resulting in significant savings.

Roger Parkin of Penrith Building Supplies commented: “The main objective of the project was to provide a suitable and robust grating channel that ensured reliable drainage and also kept within the budget.

Gatic was able to provide a value engineered solution backed by all the relevant performance data and certification for maximum assurance on product quality.”
