Offering a balance of concealment and control, Samuel Heath’s Powermatic door closers have been developed to offer an invisible door closing solution for commercial projects.
The company’s Powermatic door closers have been developed to provide an automatic closing solution for both fire and non-fire doors in a variety of commercial, education, health and housing developments.
Designed to offer concealment and discreet installation, the door closers have been CE Marked and Certifire-approved. By installing Powermatics, specifiers can achieve compliance with BS8300 and Approved Document M of the Building Regulations.
Available in both standard and Free Swing models, the British-manufactured door closers have been designed to retain a clean, unobstructed appearance to the door. Powermatics can operate without the mechanical arms and control boxes required by surface-mounted devices.
As they are designed to be unobtrusive, the door closers are appropriate for a variety of anti-barricade and anti-ligature applications. They are particularly suitable for installation on doors in educational and health facilities, which are not constantly monitored, but may still be susceptible to ligature.
Powermatics are also desirable in psychiatric and care institutions, where an institutionalised aesthetic is not considered appropriate.
However, the benefits of concealment exceed aesthetic considerations: for instance, a discreet door closer is less likely to be vandalised, improving the reliability of the door to close when necessary. Maintenance and repair costs are also fewer than those accumulated by surface-mounted devices.
Exposure to germs and detritus is also minimised, enhancing the sterility of the door closers.
The ADSA Academy – the online learning platform for members of the Automatic Door Suppliers Industry – has undergone a radical revamp with improved levels of functionality and personalisation.
