ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio wireless locks have been specified as part of an access control system to protect Reshafim’s new manufacturing site.
As one of Israel’s largest commercial door manufacturers, Reshafim is no stranger to access control: it offers an array of secure and safety entrance and fire door solutions for both business and residential applications.
The company specified ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio wireless locks – integrated with Ardan’s DDS access control system – to protect its new Ashkelon manufacturing plant.
Approximately 30 battery-powered Aperio E100 online escutcheons have been installed at the facility; the locks have individually linked to a DDS electronic access control system via a network of multiple wireless communications hubs.
By eliminating the need for electric cabling, the wireless locks can help to control project costs.
The integrated system has been developed to ensure a constant and consistent level of security and access control. Employees at the Reshafim plant have been issued with HID smartcards, which allow them to open the facility’s doors by making use of standard RFID technology.
Access audits can be conducted online, giving the plant’s management the opportunity to issue or revoke an individual’s access rights. This ensures the maintenance of site security in the case of a lost card.
The access control system can also be extended and developed, should the needs at the manufacturing site change.
