DORMA access control system at the Grange

Residential care facility benefits from DORMA access control system

  • 15 Mar 2016

A new access control system featuring integrated automatic swing doors from DORMA has been installed at residential care facility The Grange.

The Grange is a residential care facility for people living with disabilities. Following the redevelopment of its three residential care wings, the project team needed to source a range of modern door solutions which would accommodate individuals that may struggle to operate heavy, non-automatic doors.

MATRIX Professional access control system

The MATRIX Professional access control system is operated in-house to manage who enters each section of the building.

The DORMA MATRIX Professional access control system was specified to provide easy access for residents with restricted mobility whilst helping to achieve the desired level of security.

DORMA installed three automatic swing doors, adhering to the requirements of the Equality Act 2010. The doors were connected to the DORA MATRIX Professional access control system. Residents were issued fobs which would allow access to the building.

A number of XS-PRO Cylinders were also integrated within the system and fitted intone locking cylinders of various doors accessed by staff.

The MATRIX Professional software is maintained in-house by The Grange, meaning staff can effectively manage who enters each section of the facility and change the access rights of any fob when needed.

Long-lasting door solutions

It was also important that the facility was provided with high quality door solutions to ensure that the building openings were kept reliable and safe.

DORMA designed and installed all the solutions for the project, providing a robust and sustainable access plan for staff and clientele within and around the premises.

DORMA will also provide on-going service and maintenance within The Grange to ensure all doors continue to operate correctly and meet legislative standards and help to reduce lifecycle costs.
