REHAU has launched a new range of underfloor heating controls which can be integrated with its popular floor systems.
REHAU’s new NEA Smart underfloor heating controls can be operated remotely via the internet or smartphone.
The REHAU NEA Smart System comprises three core components: the NEA Smart base station and a choice of two room thermostats.
Simple to operate and easy to install, the NEA Smart System has been developed to optimise both efficiency and comfort levels by adapting to the user’s programming behaviour and pump use.
The heating controls operate on a low voltage, meaning they do not need to be installed by a qualified electrician. Instead, the system can be installed by the same installer who is fitting the floor system.
The NEA Smart System also offers the option of the REHAU NEA Smart (wired) or REHAU NEA Smart R (wireless) thermostats. Both systems can be operated via smart phones or tablet, or by integration into a home automation network.
Ideal for residential and light commercial projects, the NEA Smart System has the capability to network up to 56 control areas together. This means that even larger commercial installations can be realised using one controller.
The NEA Smart System base station can also adapt to the requirements of installations where there is underfloor heating or radiators present. By changing a single parameter, either can be accommodated in a single controller. In addition, the controller can be adapted to accept the characterises of different pumps now available.
The software can optimise the efficiency and comfort levels of the underfloor heating system by learning the user’s programming behaviour and anticipating heat demand in advance to reduce unnecessary boiler cycling.
A REHAU underfloor heating installation operated in a typical family home can achieve energy savings of up to 20% when using the NEA Smart System.
