Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’s Ward 7 Greenlea Oncology Unit has benefited from a nature-inspired refurbishment. Wood effect flooring from Polyflor’s Forest fx PUR range was specified for installation.
More than £2 million was invested in the widescale ward improvement scheme; over 150 patients are now being treated in the extended outpatients’ ward and chemotherapy centre, per week.
A Rustic Oak design from Polyflor’s Forest fx PUR range was specified throughout the Chemotherapy and Oncology unit. Chosen to complement the natural artwork on the ward’s walls, the flooring will help to create a sense of the outdoors and, subsequently, a calming atmosphere.
Developed for use in healthcare environments, Polyflor’s Forest fx PUR vinyl flooring range can contend with high levels of foot traffic. The collection features 14 wood effect designs; supplied in a sheet format, the flooring can be welded at the seams to provide a hygienic surface.
It also features a cross-linked, UV cured polyurethane reinforcement, which allows for easy maintenance.
Achieving a BRE Global A+ rating in healthcare facilities, the range can contribute towards BREEAM credits. The flooring contains recycled material, making it completely recyclable via the Recofloor scheme.
