Recognised for its commitment to promoting wellbeing in the workplace, Schlüter-Systems has been shortlisted for Business in the Community’s 2016 Responsible Business Awards
The Responsible Business Awards have been developed to commemorate dedicated businesses that are committed to improving their local communities, creating more workplaces and confronting environmental challenges.
Open across all sectors, the Awards encourage entries from companies of all sizes. It covers a wide range of business activities, from investing in employee health and wellbeing, to supporting rural communities and disadvantaged members of society.
Business in the Community received almost 300 entries for the awards: only 103 were shortlisted. A further 82 entries were re-accredited for showing recurrent impact in their responsible business programme.
Schlüter-Systems was recognised for an initiative that started as an attempt to improve staff retention rates. However, it surpassed its original targets and continues to grow today.
The initiative aspires to create a better culture within the company: it aims to ensure each member of staff is recognised for their value to the company and their importance as a member of Schlüter’s team.
As well as hosting regular social events, the initiative aims to improve the work/life balance for the company’s employees, whilst helping them to improve their physical and mental health. For these reasons, it was shortlisted for the Bupa Wellbeing at Work Award.
The Award Winners will be announced at Business in the Community’s Annual Responsible Business Gala, which is set to take place at London’s O2 on 11th July.
