  • 13 May 2016

The A Proctor Group has assisted Dove Jeffery Homes in a recent housing project, providing its acoustic Profloor Dynamic Batten system and Reflectashield TF 0.81 breather membrane for installation.

Through the specification of its Profloor Dynamic Batten s ystem and Reflectashield TF 0.81, the company provided acoustic and thermal support to the low cost housing project in Trinity Close, Norwich.

Its team was also able to provide technical advice and site visits throughout.

Acoustic and thermal insulation for Norwich propertyImproving acoustic performance

Designed to reinforce a project’s chosen floor finish in a similar way to a standard batten, the Profloor Dynamic system offers acoustic support by isolating the finish from the structure to reduce sound transmission.

Solutions are available for timber and concrete floors in new build and refurbishment projects.

The system adheres to the requirements of the current Building Regulations and Robust Details for impact and airborne sound.

Thermal insulation

A Proctor’s Reflectashield TF 0.81 was also specified for the project. As an external breather membrane, the product has been developed to enhance the thermal performance on timber frame structures.

The membrane has recently been re-tested by A Proctor: the test, which was undertaken at the National Physics Laboratory, resulted in an uplift of the previous thermal performance to an R-value of 0.81 m2K/W.

Reflectashield TF 0.81 complies with the vapour resistance requirements established by the NHBC, BS 4016 and TRADA.
