As a weed control barrier, DuPont Plantex Platinium provides resistance to invasive and aggressive plants, from giant hogweed and marestail to Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam.
Over several years, the weed control barrier has undergone frequent testing in natural environments. The tests, which were carried out by DuPont’s R&D team, have recorded no perforation or regrowth.
Whilst providing a barrier against invasive plants, such as reed and couch grass, Plantex Platinium remains permeable to air and water, ensuring that the biodiversity of the soil beneath it is maintained.
Dupont Plantex Platinium is available in widths of 2.5m and 5m to ensure coverage of large areas.
Once installed on a contaminated area and covered with a minimum of 25cm of soil, the weed control barrier does not require any attention or maintenance, unlike similar periodic chemical treatment solutions.
As an economic and ecological solution, which has been developed for the protection of sensitive areas, the barrier provides an answer to the requirements of the UK HSE and EU regulation. As part of these regulations, herbicides will most likely be banned.
