Resident’s views – what developers should know
Latest nationwide survey, commissioned by Sky, explores what consumers expect of new build property in a world of changing media consumption and smart technology.
Almost 70% of people want new build properties to be better equipped including:
- more storage
- renewable energy
- pre-wired TV and broadband
Buying a new build is still the most popular choice – more than half of people would opt for a new build because it allows them to have input on the style and design of the interior.
Broadband and TV services ranked in the top five essential services, just behind more traditional utilities such as electricity, water, and gas.
- 55% of people expecting to have TV services in place either before they move in or within 48 hours
- 18% of people considered a security system essential
