Sundolitt XPS 300 has been specified to insulate and waterproof the roof of Edinburgh’s new South St Andrew Square development.
Situated in the centre of Edinburgh’s historic ‘New Town’ region, South St Andrew Square is a mixed office, retail and residential scheme; it is a joint venture between Standard Life Investments Pooled Pension Property Fund and partner Peveril Securities.
The new development features a collaborative, contemporary architectural design from CDA and Gareth Hoskins Architects. Bowmer and Kirkland acted as the project’s primary contractor.
Sundolitt XPS 300 (extruded polystyrene) was specified for the establishment’s roofing system. Developed to provide compression resistance and low moisture absorption, the system acts as a suitable thermal insulator for a wide range of commercial and domestic construction applications.
Its closed-pore structure enables it to resist water ingress and adverse weather conditions. Whilst Sundolitt XPS is manufactured in a number of thicknesses and sheet sizes, its primary range offers a thermal conductivity of 0.033 – 0.037 W/mK.
The range is available in square or shiplap edge; Sundolitt’s UK team can advise on the most appropriate specification to ensure that the needs of architects, specifiers and contractors are met.
