Following the successful launch of the PURe window and door systems, Senior Architectural Systems has invested in a new high pressure Polyurethane injection system to improve the speed and efficiency of its production line.
The PURe range is the first on the UK market to feature an enhanced thermal barrier manufactured from expanded polyurethane foam (PUR) to achieve U-values as low as 0.71W/m2K when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window and 0.93W/m2K when calculated as a CEN standard door.
The new polyurethane injection system is part of a greater investment programme, with further improvements planned for its polyamide production and a factory expansion scheduled to take place later this year.
In addition to improving the quality, speed and output of production by reducing manufacturing time, the high pressure injection system is easy to maintain and will help to reduce waste.
As part of Senior’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its production, other recent investments include an efficient grey water system to recycle water used in manufacture and a new £150k waste reducing powder coating line, which saves over 22 tonnes per year of product being sent to landfill.
