Contour has developed its Covara LST range of radiator guards to ensure that each casing comes with BioCote anti-microbial protection as standard.
Contour’s Covara Low Surface Temperature (LST) radiator range has been designed to provide safety-compliant heating solutions for public and commercial spaces, such as libraries, transport terminals, offices, restaurants, leisure centres and universities, colleges and schools.
Supplied as a one piece unit, featuring pre-fabricated cut outs for pipework, skirting boards and valves, the radiator cover is available in over 140 sizes across single convector, double panel plus and double convector emitter models.
The cover, which is manufactured from 1.2mm mild steel, is punched with 5.5mm wide radius grilles, to allow for easy maintenance whilst preventing the insertion of small items. Bullnose corners and half bullnose edges have been included to enhance the casing’s safety offering, by reducing the risk of injury in the event of a fall against the cover.
It is polyester powder coated, internally and externally, to an average thickness of 60 microns. Whilst it is finished in RAL 9003 White as standard, a variety of other RAL colours are available to order.
Following recent product development, Contour’s Covara LST radiator casings now come with BioCote anti-microbial coating as standard.
Developed to reduce the risk of infection transmission, the coating works to ensure hygiene maintenance. It protects against dangerous bacteria, including MRSA and E.coli: research has revealed that it can effectively kill 99.5% of these microbes within 2 hours of them coming into contact with the radiator guard’s surface.
By helping to prevent bacteria and illnesses from spreading, the BioCote coating ensures Covara LST’s suitability for installation in public areas, such as schools, care homes, GP surgeries and other public spaces, where the maintenance of hygiene is particularly important.
