GGF approaches Brexit with an open mind

Last week, the UK voted to leave the European Union, sending economic shockwaves through the construction and property sector. Following the Referendum result, the GGF has announced that it will remain open-minded about the changes to come.

The GGF – formally known as the Glass and Glazing Federation – will continue to work with parliamentarians and Government departments on the issues affecting the glass and glazing industry.

Whilst the industry has already been affected by Brexit and the political uncertainty that comes with it, the Federation’s Chief Executive, Nigel Rees, is confident that the GGF will be in a “stronger lobbying position once the dust has settled on last week’s Referendum.”

Open-minded about Brexit

Mr Rees has assured that the GGF will continue to deliver the same level of service for its Members, keeping them well-informed on the impact Brexit will have on its campaigns and well-equipped to deal with any changes.

“In the short term, we must wait until the Party Conferences this autumn and see how the political parties shape their leadership, policies and direction going forward,” he commented.

“In the meantime, we remain open-minded and will work in the background with our political advisers, GK Strategy, our Members and key influencers in the broader construction industry to plan for all scenarios.”
