CLIQ Connect offers smartphone activation for remote key management system

  • 4 Jul 2016

Modernising remote access control, Abloy UK’s new CLIQ Connect technology enables the activation of PROTECT2 CLIQ keys via a smartphone.

The PROTEC2 CLIQ system has been designed for the remote management of large, electronic master-keyed sites. By providing audit trails on locks and padlocks and enabling users to invalidate lost or stolen keys, the system ensures secure key management from anywhere in the world.

PROTEC2 offers a security solution for a variety of sectors, including education, healthcare, telecoms and defence. It is particularly suitable for organisations with a large number of engineers and contractors that pay frequent visits to remote sites.

Abloy’s new CLIQ Connect online key allows users to update keys wirelessly via a smartphone. The connectivity provides a real time audit trail on non-wired products, such as padlocks and cam locks; access rights can be granted to the user on-site.

CLIQ Connect keys are completely compatible with all existing PROTEC2 CLIQ systems: as the keys make use of Bluetooth 4.0 technology, new cylinders are not necessary.

In addition to IP-57 rating, the keys boast a battery life of up to two years.
