Kingspan TEK Cladding Panel offers ROI for commercial buildings

  • 6 Jul 2016

A recent Sweett Group study has demonstrated that, by specifying the Kingspan TEK Cladding Panel instead of traditional steel frame wall systems, commercial properties can achieve a positive Return on Investment (ROI).

Commissioned by Kingspan Insulation, the ‘Real Value of Space’ research compares two external wall scenarios: a Kingspan TEK Cladding Panel construction and two metal stud wall constructions, with mineral and rock mineral fibre.

The external wall solutions were applied across a database of 4,860 buildings, which form a representative sample of commercial buildings across the UK.

Real Value of SpaceROI with Kingspan TEK

A range of inputs were measured to calculate the market value of any additional space achieved with the Kingspan TEK Cladding Panel construction.

This was then compared to the cost of the build-up to determine whether a Return on Investment (ROI) could be achieved by installing a SIP system, such as the Kingspan TEK, instead of a metal stud wall construction.

The research revealed that, when specifying the Kingspan TEK Cladding Panel, 88% of the buildings considered had a positive ROI.

To verify the results, Sweett Group undertook an additional analysis on nine real properties from Southampton to Glasgow: eight of the nine case study buildings showed a positive ROI of up to 720%.
