BBA U-Value Competency Scheme

Alumasc achieves BBA Approval for U-Value calculations and condensation risk

  • 6 Jul 2016

Alumasc has gained BBA Approval under the U-Value and Condensation Risk Competency Scheme. The scheme promotes the accurate, objective and consistent calculation of U-Values and condensation risk within buildings.

In order to gain BBA Approval, Alumasc completed four separate stages demonstrating the company’s technical competency and in-house procedural controls to ensure that its U-Value calculations offered under the scope of the scheme were accurate.

The testing included an initial screening, an office inspection, validation and conclusions and ongoing surveillance.

By becoming registered under the U-Value and Condensation Risk Competency Scheme, company’s can provide reassurance that its services or data being provided have been subject to a rigorous independent assessment process.

Overwriting default U-Values

Alumasc also now has the facility to overwrite default U-Values, which is particularly relevant for funded schemes where the carbon capture score is crucial. These calculations are obligatory for every funded project in Scotland.
