Saracen Interiors has designed and delivered a full office fit out for Audatex, creating an open-plan work environment for the company’s employees.
After undertaking an initial workplace assessment, Saracen’s team stripped and refitted the Reading-based commercial space for the risk and asset management software and services provider.
Working closely with Audatex to ensure the best use of space, the company’s design featured strongly in the early planning stages of the renovation project.
Audatex was given a pantone guide to determine the colours that would best complement its corporate shade; Saracen selected several vibrant shades from its choices and presented them through furniture and fittings throughout the office.
The company designed several feature walls, comprising striking images. One wall boasts a map of the world, whilst another features the outline of a car, made up of various vehicular parts. Docked iPads have been installed outside each meeting room, providing a reference for schedules of availability and upcoming events.
High level glazing was fitted above the print hub on the first floor, encouraging light flow and promoting a sense of additional space. The office has benefited from LED lighting and energy efficient air conditioning, enhancing its green credentials.
The building’s original single suspended ceiling was altered to include feature bulkheads over the teapoint and break out areas. Meeting booths have also been built-in to allow employees the opportunity to step away from their desks for a quiet break, when required.
The refurbishment was carried out in phased stages to ensure that Audatex’s team could continue with their work as usual. Each phase covered around four to five weeks: stud partition walls were set up at the beginning of each phase, relocating staff to different parts of the office accordingly. The team worked to ensure that fire routes were maintained at all times.
