CONICA’s CONIFLOOR industrial resin flooring has been fitted in the basement of the Tower of London’s new citizenM hotel.

Designed to provide a premium boutique experience, the citizenM hotel chain is currently undertaking a significant global expansion.

One of its new hotels – the Tower of London citizenM – is the chain’s second London-based hotel. Comprising 370 rooms, it is scheduled to open later this month.

CONIFLOOR IPS resin flooring

CONICA’s CONIFLOOR IPS resin flooring was specified for installation in the basement of the new establishment. Developed for all types of industrial floors, the polyurethane system is a three-layer, low-emission product, particularly suitable for floors of medium resilience.

The build’s primary contractor, Avonline, carried out the 459 square metre fitting. Working to a limited timeframe, the company operated alongside Balfour Beatty to ensure the prompt completion of its resin flooring installation.

The basement floor was prepared by diamond grinding, before a couple of coats of CONIFLOOR 110 primer were applied. A 2mm coat of CONIFLOOR 420 was then spread and, following this, CONIFLOOR 520 CW was applied to complete the system.

Coving details included a coat of CONIFLOOR 110 primer and an application of epoxy mortar to a height of 200mm and two coats of CONIFLOOR 520.
