Aggregate Industries achieves Constructing Excellence national membership status

  • 16 Aug 2016

Constructing Excellence has welcomed Aggregate Industries as the first construction materials provider to achieve national membership status within the organisation.

Created in 2003, Constructing Excellence is a national membership organisation which aims to improve construction industry performance in order to create a better built environment.

In addition to continuing the demonstration project and best practice work started by the Construction Best Practice Programme and Movement for Innovation (M4I), Constructing Excellence has produced numerous industry reports and undertakes UK government consultancy work, including annual Key Performance Indicators for the Office of National Statistics.

The organisation provides members with the opportunity to participate in a number of steering groups which cover topics including: BIM, sustainability and asset management, and input into policy consultations.

Member companies such as Aggregate Industries are also invited to represent Construction Excellence on a number of high profile, strategic external groups.

Brian Downes, major projects director for Aggregate Industries commented that the company was “delighted” to have achieved national membership status. He said:

“Much like our own organisation, Constructing Excellence places innovation, sustainability and collaborative working at the top of the agenda to drive best practice. As members, we’re looking forward to taking an active role over the coming months and years.”
