ASSA ABLOY improves performance of fire door range

  • 18 Aug 2016

ASSA ABLOY Security Doors has enhanced its offering of fire doors to include solutions that provide a combination of insulation and integrity.

In order to achieve compliance with UK Building and Fire Regulations, fire doors must be capable of preventing flames from transferring to the unexposed side from the exposed side.

However, in some high risk applications, they must be able to hinder the transfer of heat from one side of the door to the other.

In order to ensure that people and properties are safeguarded in the event of an emergency, ASSA ABLOY Security Doors has improved the performance of its doorsets. The company is now able to offer a range of fire doors, which have been independently tested to European standards to deter heat transfer.

The doors have been designed to act as a barrier to prevent flames and heat from spreading. Subsequently, this reduces the risk of objects combusting on the other side of the door that is not exposed to the flames.

ASSA ABLOY Security Doors’ solutions include E30 – E240 for integrity and EI30 – EI120 for integrity and insulation in accordance with EN1634-1.
