Catnic has supplied a range of bespoke lintels for Albany Court, a new housing development in Essex.
Developed to provide accommodation for both the private and shared ownership sector in Leigh on Sea, Albany Court comprises six blocks, featuring over 60 homes and apartments.
One and two-bedroom apartments can be found in blocks A, B and C, whilst blocks D and E are made up from a range of shared ownership homes. A group of private three-bedroom properties, set over three floors, are housed in block F.
Full service building company, Randall Watts, is responsible for the construction of the homes, which are scheduled for completion this autumn. To ensure the specification of high quality building components, the company contracted Catnic to deliver the multifaceted housing development.
Working closely with the project’s architect and structural engineer, Catnic produced a number of technical drawings and structural load calculations to ensure that all bespoke lintels were manufactured and delivered in the correct shape, with the accurate dimensions required for each individual application.
The company delivered its CG, CX and CH 90/100 Cavity Wall Open Back Lintels to provide additional structural support in communal areas, living areas and entrances. Following galvanisation, the lintels were hot-dipped and Duplex Corrosion protected to ensure resistance to damage, impact or abrasion.
Bespoke mitred lintels were created to provide further support to the lounge and bedroom areas. Catnic also developed 50 arch lintels to account for different radiuses around doorways and apertures; a range of Lintel Arch Centre units were specified to centre brick arch construction.
Curved On Plan bay window lintels were designed and manufactured to enable the creation of curved walls within blocks E and F, whilst a further three Splayed Bay lintels were fitted to maximise natural lighting in each of the three-bedroom residences.
With CFC and HCHC insulation, the lintels work to reduce cold spots and enhance thermal performance throughout the housing development.
