FLIR Systems is offering a comprehensive programme of infrared training courses through its Infrared Training Centre (ITC).
Designed to educate camera users by offering an insight into the science behind infrared technology, ITC’s Level 1 training course provides guidance for specific applications.
Throughout the four-day course, which has been approved by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BiNDT), delegates will study the basics of infrared and heat transfer to broaden their understanding of the technology.
They will also learn how to use infrared cameras for different purposes, and how to operate the technology under varying conditions. Measurement tools and techniques will be covered; the course will also teach users how to identify error sources, such as sunlight and reflective surfaces.
The course is PCN ready, for those who want to complement their ITC certification with PCN CAT 2 accreditation. As part of FLIR’s autumn and winter programme, Level 1 courses will be held throughout the UK from September to December.
A Level 2 course has been developed for those who wish to extend their skillset and develop their knowledge. Comprising more theory than the Level 1 programme, the course explores the physical laws used by infrared cameras to produce images and measure temperature. It also discusses the anomalies, patterns and causes that can be encountered in thermal imaging.
Spanning five days, the Level 2 course will commence on 28th November at the ITC in Kent.
FLIR has also designed a range of short, one-day courses that cover thermal imaging for specific applications; building science and electrical inspection. These are set to run in Watford and Lutterworth
