Forma column casings specified for Mondrian Hotel installation

Encasement’s Forma column casings have been specified to conceal structural steelwork at Mondrian Hotel’s bar and restaurant areas.

Located on London’s South Bank, between Blackfriars Bridge and OXO Tower, the ‘Mondrian London at Sea Containers House’ is part of the Morgan Hotels Group.

The building has recently benefited from a nautical-inspired refurbishment: its rooftop bar replicates a cruise liner deck, whilst its ground floor area now features a copper clad wall, reminiscent of the hull of a ship.

The 1,500 square metre space accommodates two riverside restaurants and a breakfast bar, where sixteen of Encasement’s Forma column casings have been installed to conceal exposed structural steelwork.

Forma column casings

Manufactured from perforated aluminium at 3mm thick, the column casings have been padded with acoustic foam to reduce noise and reverberations within the bar area. A black PPC finish ensures the casings are unobtrusive and aesthetically-pleasing.

The hexagonal casings measure over 1,600mm at their widest point; at 1,300mm wide, the square casings act as waiter stations within the restaurant area. The column casings stand at over 2.5 metres high.
