First published in 2011, Glass in Architecture includes prestigious architectural projects from around the world that feature the most creative uses of glass, with an emphasis on projects where architects have combined functionality and sustainability with design.

Antinori Winery located in Bargino, Tuscany. The building uses Pilkington Optiwhite T, Pilkington Optilam OW and Pilkington Optilam Therm S3 OW.

Unique to this edition, the featured projects range from the McDonald’s pavilion situated in the centre of Rotterdam, where the architect utilised glass to blend the inside and outside of the building, to a viewing platform at ‘Le Pas dans le Vide’ in the French Alps.

The platform comprises a glass box which uses frameless glazing to ensure unobstructed views of the landscape.

The second edition of Glass in Architecture also features a number of public spaces in which glass has been used to help enhance the building’s aesthetics and sustainable performance, including the Stonehenge Visitor Centre and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.
