Malcolm Taylor, Product Manager, REHAU, invites you to the 2016 REHAU sponsored Passivhaus Conference and Expo at the Business Design Centre in Islington, North London on October 25.
This year the Passivhaus Conference will focus on the delivery of Passivhaus in large scale projects.
The keynote speaker will be talking about Heidelberg Bahnstadt in Germany, widely acknowledged to be the largest Passivhaus community in the world with just under 2000 apartments and all non-domestic buildings built to Passivhaus standards.
A 2015 study by the Darmstadt Passivhaus Institute established that the homes in Heidelberg Bahnstadt used an average of 80% less heat energy than comparable homes nearby, and that the heating requirements were even slightly below the required threshold for Passivhaus houses of 15kW/h per m², so it promises to be a very interesting presentation.
The event has a UK emphasis as well of course and there will be a panel discussion with experienced architects and consultants talking about projects in Bristol, Norwich and Exeter.
As a gold sponsor of the conference, REHAU will be taking part in the seminar programme, talking about Passivhaus window installation and the role which correct installation of windows, doors and curtain walling has to play in achieving Passivhaus certification. We will be giving advice based on real world projects in the UK and there will even be technical, hands-on Mini-Masterclass sessions running alongside the conference.
REHAU will also be giving away £500 worth of vouchers to one lucky delegate for a trip to the luxury eco hotel The Scarlet in North Cornwall.
